Underwriting Guidelines and Requirements
When you want to view and or print out a particular carrier's underwriting requirements for Build, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Tobacco Use, Hazardous Sports, Family History, Residency/Citizenship requirements or other basic guidelines you should use this link:
Guidelines & Requirements
When you provide us with details on your prospects and clients, we then shop your case with underwriters at our top carriers. The objective is to have them provide guidance on what rating to apply to your case. Preliminary ratings are very useful and we have had great success with this "quick quote" process. Of course tentative ratings are only as good as the information the client provides you and of course the Exam, Labs and any Medical Records will impact the final offer. But we can get a great start and we generally have enough feedback in 24 hours to provide quotes.
If you wish to provide medical records and have an agency HIPPA Form signed we can even have one of our underwriters on retainer review detailed medical history and provide a written "recap" that we can send out to our carriers. Turn around time varies depending on work flow and APS size.
We realize that sometimes you just won't know what to ask or how to handle some of your prospects conditions!
Part of the sales process is knowing that we don't always have the answers but you can get them! When you run into the situation where you just need to know what to ask, you can visit our website or give us a call for an impairment form. It's not always Medical, sometimes people participate in "hazardous" sports or hobbies or even fly planes! That's alright, we can help you figure it out!
Click here for a list and links for questionnaire (s) for your case so that you can gather the info most commonly needed for just about any medical impairment or avocation.
Rate Adjustment/Table Shave Programs
When it looks like your client is going to be rated up 2 to 4 tables we have several carriers that have programs in place to offer STANDARD Rates to many of these folks. You can find out more by clicking this link:
